Course overview
The Property Management Fundamentals program has been developed in partnership with QShelter, clustering units of competency drawn from the Qualification CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice, focusing on Queensland real estate legislation, real estate practice and property management. The course will provide you with the skills and hands-on learning and industry knowledge to confidently understand the Queensland real estate landscape and key property management functions and requirements.
The Property Management Fundamentals Program includes:
- Graduate with a Real Estate Registration statement of attainment
- Complete 9 units of competency as part of qualification CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice
- Self paced with up to six months to complete
- FREE one-on-one student support sessions
- Once completed, upgrade options are available, with just 6 additional units to be completed to meet the requirements of the REIQ Registration course; or
- Upgrade to the REIQ Full Licence program by completing just 10 additional units.

- CPPREP4002 - Access and interpret ethical practice in real estate
- CPPREP4003 - Access and interpret legislation in real estate
- CPPREP4005 - Prepare to work with real estate trust accounts
- CPPREP4121 – Establish landlord relationships
- CPPREP4123 – Manage tenancy
- CPPREP4122 – Manage tenant relationships
- CPPREP4124 – End tenancy
- CPPREP4503 – Present at hearings in real estate
These units form part of the CPP41419 – Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.
The Property Management Fundamentals program does not lead to a licensing outcome, however has been packaged and designed to provide an introduction to both the Queensland Real Estate market and the Property Management Sector.
The program will provide you with the knowledge to prepare for professional practice in real estate and develop an understanding on how to access and interpret legislation in real estate. You will learn how to establish landlord relationships, manage tenancies, manage tenant relationships and how to present at hearings in real estate. However, it is important to note, that you are not authorised to undertake these activities unless you are registered or licensed with the Office of Fair Training.
There are no per-requisites to study the registration course. However, all REIQ courses require LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) capabilities, such as a working knowledge of the English language and an understanding of various mathematical calculations. To ensure your ability to successfully complete our courses, you are required to demonstrate your LLN skills by completing a short LLN quiz as part of the enrollment process.
Students will require:
- A computer to access online learning materials and undertake online assessments.
- Internet access for research, submitting online assessment items, and email for communication purposes and tutor assistance.
- A Unique Student Identifier (USI) that can be obtained at www.usi.gov.au
