How are students supported to complete their course?

We offer personalised one-on-one student support sessions which are included in your course fees. Students can schedule a call back during office hours, or submit the question in writing by completing the Student Support Form – Able to be accessed here.

Do you offer custom private tutoring?

We sure do! Our private tutoring is designed for time-poor professionals or small groups who are wanting to complete their course quickly. To find out more contact our friendly team on 1300 697 347 or email training@reiq.com.au (fees apply).

What equipment do I need to undertake the course?

You will need:


  • A computer to access online learning materials and undertake online assessments.
  • Internet access for research, submitting online assessment items, and email for communication purposes and tutor assistance.
  • A Unique Student Identifier (USI) that can be obtained at www.usi.gov.au

What experience do the course trainers have?

Our trainers and assessors have at least 15 years' experience in the real estate industry and are selected for their expertise and their ability to convey their skills and knowledge to students. The REIQ prides itself on providing up-to-date information, quality materials and comprehensive support to students undertaking their study with us. All REIQ training and assessment is developed by industry trainers in consultation with REIQ members and specialists in the subject area. All materials are regularly updated to ensure that REIQ’s training is meeting the needs of an ever-changing real estate profession.

What happens after I complete the course?

Depending on your chosen course, the REIQ will issue you a Statement of Attainment at the successful completion of the program. If the program is accredited and meets the licence or registration requirement, the Statement of Attainment can be provided to the Office of Fair Trading as part of the application process to apply for the relevant licensing to enter the real estate industry.

No degree required!

Unlike other professions, you don’t need to study for three years plus at University to get started. And with a price tag starting at $900, it’s a lot more affordable than Uni too.

One course = many opportunities

Once you have your qualifications (either registration or licence), there are a variety of career paths to explore including sales agent, property manager, corporate support, principal or business owner and auctioneer plus many more.

How do I become a real estate salesperson?

To work in real estate sales in Queensland you should:


  • Complete the REIQ Real Estate Registration course
  • Get a grade of “competent” on course assessments, and the REIQ will give you a “Statement of Attainment”
  • Apply to the Office of Fair Trading for your Real Estate Registration Certificate!

How do I become an independent real estate agent?

To work as an independent real estate agent in Queensland, you’ll need to attain a Full Real Estate Licence. A Full Licence places you in an elite group of real estate professionals with the skills and knowledge to control your own destiny. It’s a negotiating tool because it makes your career more portable, as you can work independently. With a Full Licence you could work as a contractor or open your own real estate business.


To become a real estate agent you should:


  • Complete the REIQ Full Real Estate Licence course
  • Get a grade of “competent” on course assessments, and the REIQ will give you a “Statement of Attainment”
  • Apply to the Office of Fair Trading for your Real Estate Licence!

How do I become a real estate auctioneer?

To work as a real estate Auctioneer in Queensland you should:


  • Complete the REIQ Real Estate Auctioneer Licence course
  • Get a grade of “competent” on course assessments, and the REIQ will give you a “Statement of Attainment”
  • Apply to the Office of Fair Trading for your Real Estate Auctioneer Licence!

How do I get a job in real estate?

To work in real estate in Queensland, even if you’re in a real estate administration role (also known as corporate support), the REIQ recommends you attain a Registration Certificate. This is because to speak to anyone about a property listed for sale (even if it’s only on the phone) you are required to have a current Registration Certificate. This is a great way to start in real estate, because it;’s the same qualification that lets you work as a real estate salesperson or as a property manager.


To start your career in Queensland real estate, you should:


  • Complete the REIQ Real Estate Registration course
  • Get a grade of “competent” on course assessments, and the REIQ will give you a “Statement of Attainment”
  • Apply to the Office of Fair Trading for your Real Estate Registration Certificate!
