Records all round as State's top real estate professionals shine
On Saturday night (23 October), the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) hosted the Queensland's real estate communities' night of nights – the 2021 REIQ Awards for Excellence.
A record number of 820 real estate practitioners packed The Star Gold Coast for the industry peak body's sell-out gala event, which saw 28 category winners crowned and celebrated for their outstanding achievements from an elite shortlist of finalists.
The REIQ's CEO AntoniaMercorellacongratulated the 2021 Award winners, acknowledging the highly competitive and rapidly changing landscape they've operated in over the past financial year.
“The REIQ Awards for Excellence is one of the most highly-anticipated events on the state's real estate profession calendar, as agents and agencies strive to set themselves apart in Queensland's competitive real estate industry,” Ms Mercorella said.
“Agents across Queensland vied for the chance to step up to the podium last night to accept an Award, and those who took home a title should be incredibly proud of that significant achievement.”
Ms Mercorella said that each year the REIQ's members raised the bar of professionalism in the industry, reflected in the growing quantity and quality of Award entrants and calibre of the winners.
“In 2021 we've seen a record number of nominations, with 194 finalists vying to win the 28 individual and agency categories,” she said.
“As a peak body should, the REIQ exists to empower real estate agents in their endeavours to uphold the highest professional standards in the industry, and these Awards are an extension of that support – providing a stage for the profession's stand-out performers to be elevated among their peers.”
Ms Mercorella said the long-standing Awards had been revamped this year with new categories.
“For the first time, the awards were expanded to feature new performance-based categories to better reflect both professional and commercial business successes, as well as new categories to shine a light on our industry's rising stars,” Ms Mercorella said.
“Our judges were incredibly impressed by the quality of the finalists and each one of the exceptional winners are members who have demonstrated commitment to the REIQ values of integrity, customer service and best practice conduct, and strive to stay at the leading edge of their profession.”
