Real estate training reaches new heights with peak bodies partnership

New training course, South Australia

Two peak real estate bodies are joining forces to bring top quality real estate training to South Australia, with the first training program ready to raise the bar from August 2024.

The joint venture partnership will see Real Estate Institute of South Australia (REISA) and the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) deliver exceptional face-to-face training programs in Adelaide, starting with the Property Manager Registration Program.

The suite of new accredited training opportunities will be expanded in future to include the Sales Representative Registration Program, and Land Agents Registration Program.

The training and assessment will be conducted under the REIQ Registered Training Organisation (RTO 5420), with the resources contextualised by South Australian legislation experts to meet the SA regulation and industry requirements.

REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella said the collaboration between the professional institutes would offer industry leading training to real estate students in South Australia.

“Over a quarter of century teaching more than 65,000 graduates, the REIQ has cemented its reputation as a highly regarded training organisation known for producing job-ready professionals in the sunshine state,” Ms Mercorella said.

“We’ve continually refined and modernised our training over many years to ensure that we remain a leading training provider in real estate education with exceptional student satisfaction rates.

“Now we’re excited to be taking our training prowess and adapting it for a new market – students can expect the same best-in-class learning experiences and award-winning training but tailored specifically for South Australian practice.”

REISA CEO Andrea Heading said as a fellow peak body, the REIQ were perfectly aligned to provide these training resources which had been carefully customised to South Australia’s marketplace.

“With these courses, students will get the best of both worlds – they’ll benefit from REISA’s localised real estate knowledge built over our 105-year-old history, as well as the REIQ’s proven track record of providing outstanding training,” Ms Heading said.

“Our team of leading South Australian real estate practitioners have contextualised the training material with South Australian examples, case studies and legislation, including recent rental reforms, to ensure the training is locally enriched and highly relevant here.

“Importantly, the programs will be proudly trained and assessed by qualified South Australian real estate practitioners who know our marketplace inside out.”

Ms Mercorella said she was confident that aspiring real estate students would see the value in training with a professional peak body, backed by decades of training experience.

“When students train with the peak professional body in real estate, they are gaining a ‘professional guardian’ that has a vested interest in their ongoing success,” she said.

“It’s not just about getting a student to graduation; a real estate institute strives to support a professional throughout their career because their success is our success.”
